Happy Halloween friends!
I saw a video that said the next Halloween won’t land on a Saturday until 2027, isn’t that crazy?! As a mom, I will allow my kids to stay up past bed time for holidays and special occasions, but as a woman who likes to party, this made me a little sad.. but my husband and I will be going out tomorrow evening, I guess for the last Saturday Halloween in over a decade!
Update re my new job💻:
Loving it. It is still absurd to me that I got an opportunity through my experience working for myself and not for somebody else. AKA my newsletter work, my business, my content creation. That’s why it is never too late to build your personal brand and start your online journey RIGHT NOW. Do it alongside your 9-5, heck, do it after your 9-5, do it on weekends. Little by little, you will have established a real venture. A real portfolio.
I received my work email (now that’s official!), added to the slack and whatsapp channels, and was introduced to team members.
The past week has been heeeeaaaavy strategy work. I built out a couple of docs outlining how I would develop the newsletter, and other arms of the business, different revenue streams and ways to monetize.
The only hiccup I still have to work out is how to work async, with time zone differences since we are based in different continents. I hope I can find a right rhythm by the end of November!
I am working part-time because I am still a full-time parent. But come January 2027, my husband goes on his parental leave and I am 100000% ready to be neck deep in work! I still will be a parent, duh, but I am very aware of my workaholic tendencies (iykyk) and that’s not cool.
