💡Amazon just cut 16,000 corporate roles (the second massive wave in 3 months) not because they’re broke, but to “flatten” their organization. CEO Andy Jassy is explicitly redirecting those salaries into Generative AI and automation. For remote workers, this signals a massive shift: the roles being deleted are the “middle-men” and administrative layers. To stay relevant in this market, you must move toward being a “builder” or a specialist who knows how to leverage AI tools to do the work of three people.
🔎TLDR: Amazon is trading managers for machines. Stop aiming for coordination roles and start mastering high-impact, AI-integrated skills that a “lean” company can’t automate away.
💡Recruiters are officially drowning in “AI slop” (generic, bot-written applications), and 80% can spot them at a glance. To AI-proof your resume now, you need to ditch the perfect-but-boring templates and use the STAR-K method: Situation, Task, Action, Result + Keywords. Use a simple, text-based PDF (no tables or columns that “choke” the scanner) and focus on your human “soft skills”—like cultural judgment and complex communication—which are currently at a premium because they’re the hardest for AI to mimic.
🔎TLDR: If your resume sounds like a bot wrote it, a recruiter will trash it. Treat AI as your research assistant, but keep your “human voice” as the final filter to stand out in the pile.
