I’m excited that Autumn is approaching, a little quickly where I am, in Sweden.

As you may or may not be aware, September surge is a time where companies will be hiring, so it is great time for you to polish your resumes and cover letters. Now is also a great time to network with your warm connections on LinkedIn or IRL.

A big tip for those that is just starting to network and want to request a referral, remember the rule of 3. Make at least 3 touchpoints with your new contact before you request a referral! A touch point could be the first meeting, a coffee chat, a networking event, an email. The purpose is to make them remember you and can actually vouch for you in a referral.
