📰Job postings for hybrid, remote roles in Canada plummet

TLDR: hybrid job postings in Canada dropped to just 13% of listings in Q2 2026, down from 27% in late 2025 — and fully remote postings fell even harder, from 10% to 3%.

A separate global study (Remitly, 8 million postings, May 2026) puts Canada 9th-lowest out of 30 countries for remote-friendly postings, at 13.7%, behind Mexico’s 20% but still ahead of the US’s 8.4%.

My take: this tracks with what I’m seeing sourcing for you every week — the flexible roles are still out there, they’re just getting harder to find and more competitive once you do. All the more reason to go straight to company career pages instead of waiting on aggregators to surface them.
