Hi besties,

Can’t believe summer is almost over. I had such as fun weekend showing my friend from Canada around Stockholm!! Now she’s spending the next few weeks with my family and I, and I’m so just overcome with Joy that I get to be with a close friend here.

Those who have moved abroad will understand the sentiments I am explaining, it’s really nice to have someone from home who understands and shares your culture with you, even if it is for a little bit.

At the same time I have been enjoying my 1:1 office hours with many of you, it’s unfathomable how many people are going through the same things:

  • layoffs despite being at the company for a long time

  • not sure what to transition to because you possess so many different valuable skills

  • unsure how to navigate LinkedIn, even though it’s more important than a resume

If you are interested, I still have availability left in August :)

If you are interested in 1:1 office hours with me, you can book here.

You get personalized coaching and resources from me to help you find clarity and confidence in your job search and business endeavours, some of the topics we cover can include:

  • LinkedIn audit + optimization

  • Resumes & cover letters

  • Interview Prep

  • Networking

  • Online marketing for business growth

  • Starting an online business

📰Research: How Remote Work Is Narrowing Early-Career Opportunities

TLDR: New research out this week found something a lot of us have felt in our gut: companies are getting pickier about handing remote roles to people who are just starting out. Employers are more willing to take a chance on someone green when there’s a mentor sitting next to them — a lot less willing when that person is just a name on a screen.

If you’re early-career and job hunting remote, your application has to work twice as hard: show you can ramp up fast without hand-holding, and lean on references who can vouch for your follow-through. It’s not fair, but knowing the bias exists means you can plan around it.
