Hi besties,

Happy Monday! I hope you have had a restful weekend. For me personally, has been a filled with relief and gratitude. Our baby had a surgery for pyloric stenosis (minor operation) because she was projectile vomiting after each feed. But we are back home and only stayed one night in the hospital post operation.

With summer fast approaching, I want to share more opportunities for students and those 30 and under (these roles often have government subsidies and funding for the employers). So hit reply to this email and let me know what kind of summer jobs you’d like to see!

PSA: the good jobs aren’t on Indeed. 👀

They’re on Instagram, buried in LinkedIn feeds, and on career pages nobody thinks to check. That’s literally what I built jobs.wfhmamamail.com for — 1,000+ roles, salaries listed, updated daily. I just added a new category- remote healthcare jobs, which includes clinical and non-clinical roles in healthcare (30 new roles added yesterday!)

🚨 If you apply to any job you found through WFH Mama Mail, add this to the 'How did you hear about this role?' field on your application: WFH Mama Mail Newsletter — it helps me track which listings are landing and keeps me motivated to find even better opportunities for you! 🍁

📰 The Pay Gap is Growing: Why Your Salary Might Feel Stuck While CEO Pay Soars
A new report from Oxfam has highlighted a startling trend in the American workforce: in 2025, CEO pay grew a staggering 20 times faster than the wages of average workers.

While the typical employee saw their pay increase by only 1.3% after adjusting for inflation, top executives at major companies enjoyed a massive 25.6% jump in their earnings. This means that while many of us are struggling with the rising costs of groceries and rent—with nearly 60% of Americans reporting they live paycheck-to-paycheck—top bosses are bringing home an average of $23 million a year.

The gap has become so wide that CEOs now earn about 281 times more than their typical employees. Because of this, more job seekers are looking for higher-paying roles or taking on side hustles just to keep up with daily expenses.

TLDR: In 2025, CEO salaries skyrocketed by over 25%, while regular worker wages barely moved, growing only 1.3% when accounting for inflation. This massive gap explains why so many people feel like their paychecks aren't keeping up with rising prices, leading many professionals to jump back into the job market or start side businesses to bridge the financial gap.

📰Forget AI Spams: Use These 8 "Old-School" Tricks to Get Hired Now

In today’s tough job market, simply clicking “apply” on hundreds of listings with AI-generated resumes isn’t working because everyone else is doing the exact same thing. A top Harvard career advisor suggests that the real secret to standing out is returning to “old-school” relationship building. Instead of waiting until graduation, successful job seekers start networking on day one, joining clubs, and making friends with people who are a few steps ahead of them.

You should look beyond the big-name companies everyone is fighting over and target smaller firms where you can truly shine.

Most importantly, when you meet people, you need to prove the “3 Cs”: that you are competent (can do the work), committed (actually want the job), and compatible (are easy to get along with). By applying early, skipping unnecessary grad school, and keeping in touch with every professional you meet, you can navigate the hidden rules of hiring that a computer simply can’t replicate.

TLDR: Applying to jobs with AI is making everyone look the same and leading to more rejections. To get hired, you need to focus on building real human connections, starting your search early, and looking for opportunities at lesser-known companies. Always show employers that you have the skills, the passion, and the right personality to fit their team. Focus on work experience and networking rather than just collecting degrees.
